Marine Technician III

We are hiring a full-time, year-round Marine Technician III to lead diagnostics, repairs, and installations across a variety of marine systems.

PAY: $28–$38/hour ($58,240 – $79,040 annually), depending on experience.

Duties & Responsibilities


  • Expertly troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair marine engines, transmissions, drivetrains, generators, stabilizers, electrical systems, electronics, potable water systems, and sanitation systems.
  • Plan and install the above-mentioned systems. 
  • Accurately and efficiently estimate projects.
  • Perform all work to ABYC standards.
  • Inspect boats for issues or non-conformities and provide recommendations for a carefree boating experience. 
  • Perform preventative maintenance, including fall decommissioning and spring commissioning commissioning.
  • Conduct sea trials and/or lake tests.
  • Maintain detailed work records.
  • Stay current with marine systems, technology, and trends; attend training as needed. 
  • Test and adjust systems to manufacturer specifications. 
  • Serve as a technical resource for Marine Technicians I and II; offer guidance and training. 
  • Assist with hauling, launching, and standing boats using a travel lift and hydraulic trailers. 
  • Launch boats at ramps. 
  • Use a wide range of shop tools and equipment safely and effectively. 
  • Maintain personal tool inventory and readiness. 
  • Foster a positive, safe, and clean work environment. 
  • Demonstrate ownership, attention to detail, and respect for deadlines. 

  • Be willing to attend trainings and seek out opportunities for gaining knowledge

Qualifications & Requirements


Certifications

  • ABYC Master Tech certification required
  • Volvo, NMEA, and HVAC certification preferred

Experience

  • 7+ years of marine technician experience
  • Hands-on experience with diesel engines, generators, drivetrains, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, and stabilization systems 

Other Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Background check required
  • Physically able to climb ladders/stairs, lift 50 lbs. consistently, and work in/around boats of various sizes 
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
