Sam

Born and raised in Cheboygan, Michigan, Sam brings both northern Michigan roots and a strong educational background to his role as a Marine Technician. He earned an associate degree from North Central Michigan College in Petoskey and went on to complete both the Marine Technology and Boat Building programs at the Great Lakes Boat Building School (now Marine Trades Institute).

Sam comes from a close-knit family that includes a fraternal twin brother and a younger sister. A devoted dog lover, he especially adores his Corgi and proudly embraces his role as a “dog dad.” Outside of work, Sam enjoys sailing his Tartan 34, fishing, and testing out new recipes in the kitchen.

  • Favorite Boyne Boat Yard Projects: Sam enjoys diving into mechanical systems and appreciates how every boat presents something new to learn.
  • Favorite 16 Acres Fundamental: #28: Adding the Human Touch—something he believes goes hand in hand with being genuine and showing others you care.
  • Best Thing About Working at Boyne Boat Yard: For Sam, the best part of working at Boyne Boat Yard is the people and culture: “They really care about the work they do!”
